SEPARATION GRANTED.

HUSBAND AND HIS MEAIS. "NO GALLANTRY ABOUT HIM." " T am quite satisfied he is taking an abnormal view of his married life. There is not one touch of gallantry about him," said Mr. h. C. Out ten, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court- yesterday, after hearing the evidence in a matrimonial dispute. The case was an application for an order for separation, maintenance, and guardianship brought by Florence Kathleen Senior (Mr. Matthews) against Thomas Balfour Senior (Mr. Allan Moody). Complainant, who was 35 years of age, alleged that defendant, who was three years her junior, used bad language, had a- violent temper, and was addicted to drink. Sir. Moody (to complainant*: You feel yon would not like to go back ?—No, never. Farther evidence in support of the application was given by complainant's mother and defendant's sister. The former said she had be-sn present on three occasions when defendant had assaulted his wife and she had remonstrated with him. On behalf of the husband, Mr. Moody said the only evidence was that of immediate relatives and defendant was willing to take his wife back if her relatives kept away. Defendant alleged provocation by complainant, and that his food was not properly cooked and served. Defendant, in answer to the magistrate, said he was quite prepared to take his wife back. ''lt is not very often T make an order for separation in the case of people so young as these," commented Mr. Cutten. However, in the circumstances, he considered the wife had really good grounds for complaint and that the application was justified. An order was made for separation and guardianship and maintenance at the rate of £2 5s a week.
