'Hie Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows :—Present indications arc for westerly winds, strong to gale and unsettled, squally and showery weather generally. Further heavy rain is probable, with flooded rivers in the, west coast and southernmost districts of the South Island. The barometer is unsteady. with a falling tendency.
