Hannan, arrived hero yesterday to commence training for a match with Darcy Hadlkhl on April 11. A letter lias been received from Hadfield, agreeing to a race for a. stake of £SOO. with, an additional £IOO each by Hannan and Hadfield. Hannan deposited at the Bay of Plenty Times office today a cheque tor £25 as a first deposit for his share. The winner of the race will challenge the. winner of the McDcvitt-Coodsell race at Dargaville.
