BRITAIN NON-SYMPATHETIC. MR. CHAMBERLAIN'S STATEMENT. Sun . LONDON. Feb. 16. Speaking in tho House of Commons, the Secretary of State for ho reign Affairs, Mr. Austen Chamberlain, denied that Britain was sympathising with the Riffs in their campaign against the Spaniards. On the contrary, he said, Britain sympathised with Spain. The Government had consistently refused to countenance relations between British subjects and the Riff leader, Abd el Krim.
