CONTROL IN PERSIA.

DEMAND FOR THE THRONE. UNCERTAINTY AS TO POSITION. Renter. DELHI. Feb. 18 The time limit fixed by Sardar Sepah in his ultimatum to the Persian Parliament, calling upon it to choose between the Shah and himself has expired. News of what has happened is now anxiously awaited. Sarclar Sepah's bold bid for supremacy is likely to antagonise the powerful priests, who arc intellectual autocrats and strongly opposed to change in any form. It is largely owing to their conservatism that Parliament ha/1 been unable to introduce reforms in the Government of tho country. Excommunication and social ostracism are the chief weapons of the priests in dealing with their opponents.
