MURIWAI MOTOR RACES.

THE VISITING CONTESTANTS. AUSTRALIAN DRIVER ENTERED. There will be big fields in practically every event at tho motor races io be held at Muriwai beach on Saturday. Interest will be added to the senior events bv the inclusion of the Australian racing driver, Mr. Hope Bartleet. who will be piloting a Vauxhall car, on which he has put up some fine performances in Australia. Most of the southern entrants have new arrived in Auckland. These include Sir. Duncan F. Bauchop, of Wellington, with his specially-built raciDg Itala, Mr. C. W. Hamilton, of Christchurch, and his speedy Sunbeam, Mr. A. Irving, also of Christchurch, with the Bugatti, and a number of others. All interesting feature of the entries this year is tho number of light and medium-powered English cars that are starting. The entries also include many of the best-known makes of American cars, and a few Continental manufacturers are represented as well. At a recent meeting of the sports committee of the Auckland Automobile Association. which is conducting the races, it was decided, on account of tho infantile paralysis epidemic, to debar the admission of children under 16 years of age. It was also mentioned that the beach would be under police control, and that the public: will not ho allowed on tho seaward side of the racing track.
