The Gisbome roadstead presented an axtrcmely busy appearance to-day, fctee being three vessels at anchor loading sheep. The work mil be completed by evening, thus removing in two days 12,000 sheep from the district. One of the lines which went away was a mob of 2100 from Mr. A. B. Williams' station at Pnketiia. These were a Particularly fine lot, easily the best that have left Giaborne so far.
Very heavy shipments of owes have been made to the Booth Island during the past few weeks, and already 34,000 sheep have been sent to Addington, threo of the Union Steam Ship Company's vessels being continuously employed- There yet remain many thousands of sheep to be conveyed and the vessels will be employed for some weeks yel The mortality haa been small On one of the trips only a single cheep died and the greatest number lost on any one trip was fiva The total number of sheep in this shipment was 5000. It is estimated that provided tha southern demand continues 30,000 or 30,000 more sheep will be sent away. The total in any case will be very much greater than that of last year.
