GAS CONFERENCE.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The Gas Institute concluded its conference yesterday, when technical papers were read by Sir. G. H. Collins, Auckland, and Mr. J. Learmonth, Waihi. Delegates visited the Devonport and Northcote gasworks in the afternoon, and were subsequently entertained at afternoon tea at Takapuna by Mr. J. Lowe. Officers for the coming year were elected as follows: —President, Mr. G. D. Stone, Wanganui: vice-president, Mr. W. A. Courtis, Timaru; secretary, Mr. TI. Rands, Wellington; treasurer, Mr. M. J. Kennedy. Wellington; new council member, Mr. J. Lowe. Auckland; auditor, Mr. A. M. Taylor, Wellington.^ Members and their friends will be taken for an excursion to Rangitoto to-day.
