TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening Fins and warm weather conditions will predominate over the week-end, favourable influences being fairly general, though somewhat unsettled at times, particularly in northern districts, with scattered showers. Northerly to northeasterly winds, moderate to strong, prevailing and freshening. Seas moderate. A disturbance of tropical character is gradually developing north-west of the Dominion, but it is not expected to materially affect New Zealanfl conditions for several days. Barometer, midnight, 29.98 in. ; steady. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteriologist reported last evening as follows: —Present indications are for moderate to strong northeast to south-east winds, dull misty weather, with rain probable in many parts of the country.
