OBITUARY.
SIR R. T. CORYNDON. Australian arid N.Z. Cable Association. (Becd. 5.5 p.m.) , LONDON. Fob. 10. The death is reported of Sir Robert Thome Coryndon, Governof .and Com-mander-in-Chief of the Kenya Colony, and High Commissioner of Zanzibar, Sir Robert T. Coryndon was born at Queenstown, Cape Colony, on April 2, 1870. Ho whs educated in England at Cheltenham College. In November, 1889, he joined the Bechuanaland Border Police under the British South Africa Company and was a member of the pioneer force for the occupation of Mashonaland iu June, 1890. 1' rom 189697 he was private secretary to the late Cecil Rhodes. He served "in the Matabelfii War. in 1893, and the Matabele rebellion three years later. He became Resident Commissioner for Swaziland in 1907 and held that post until 1916 when he transferred to Basutoland. He was Governor of Uganda, 1917-22, after which he was appointed to the Governorship of Kenya,.. .
