OBITUARY.

SIR G. GRITGHETT, OCULIST. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Feb. 9. The death has occurred of Sir George Anderson Critchett, Bart., C.V.0., M.A., F.R.C.S.E., K.C.V.0., surgeon oculist to the King. Born in London 80 years ago, the late Sir George Critchett had a distinguished career in his profession as an ophthalmologist. Since 1901 he held the position of surgeon oculist to the King. He was the first president of the Council of the British Ophthalmologists, and was also at one time president of the Ophthalmologics! Society of the United Kingdom. _At the International Medical Congress in 1913 he was appointed president of the ophthalmic section. He was the author of soveral technical publications. His recreations were cricket and tennis, playing the latter game regularly as recently as last year. The heir to the baronetcy is Captain George Montague Critchett, who is a. Harley Street specialist.
