HOWICK BEACH LOAN.
Sir, —If the proposed Joan is carried Howick Beach is doomed. For many years the beach has been used by the public for picnicking and bathing on account, of its safety. The scheme, I believe, is to connect Bridge Road and Grey Street and erect a sea wall on the front. The fact of erecting a sea wall will make bathing for children highly dangerous for the reason that with the wind on the beach and high tides will cause a certain amount of undertow. Some members of the Howick Town Board have assured ratepayers that sand and gravel will accumulate outside the sea wall, forming a new beach. A walk along the east side of the wharf will completely answer that argument. lUtepayks.
