AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE The tone of the Auckland sharemarket was again good yesterday, Investment Stocks being in general demand. In Government Securities War Loans, and 1939, wanted at £97 10s, were quoted at £9B. There was inquiry for Soldiers' Bonds and Soldiers' Inscribed Stock at £IOO, holders of the latter quoting £IOO 15s. There was a sale of New Zealand Breweries .Debentures at 21s 9d, further buyers offering 21s 6d, sellers 225. In banks New Zealands had sale at 61s 6d, more being available at that figure, late buyers 61s 3d. Nationals of New Zealand changed hands at £6 16s, further buyers offering £6 15s, late sellers £6 17s. Australasias were again sought at £l3 12s 6d, without response. Unions of Australia (lad buyers at £l4 6s, sellers £l4 10s. In coal Taupiris were sold at 17s, late buyers offering 16s 9d, sellers "17s 9d. In gas there were transactions in Aucklands at 255, with further inquiry at 24s 9d, sellers 25s 3d. In shipping Huddart-Parkers again had buyers at 43s 6d, sellers 44s 6d, " Northern Steamships changed hands at 16s 6d, late buyers offering 16s 3d, without respond. Union Steam Ships (preference) were quoted at 21s 3d. In timber Kauris were sold at 30s 6d, further buyers offering 30s 3d, sellers 31s. Miscellaneous stocks remained practically unchanged. In mining Waihis were sought at 24s 9d, sellers again quoting 255. Kawaraus sold at 255, late sellers quoting 25s 3d. Moanataiaris were again on offer at 2s, and Waihi Grand Junctions at Is 9d.
