The Mskura is duo ul Auckland from Vancouver on January .5 with English and American mail for New Zealand. OUTGOING. Outgoing mails for overseas ports close at Auckland us under:— TO-morkow. Specially-addressed mails for the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via t anama, per Hertford, from Wellington, at 7 p.m.; jate fee, 7.35 p.m. Sunday at railway station box. Mails due London about February 5. Df.cember 31. Australian States, Ceylon, India, China. Japan, Straits Settlements, and South Africa, per Main Trunk, at 5 p.m. January 3. I ijl m Tonga, Apia and Pago Pago, per J olua, at 9 a.m. Janvakt 5. Cook Islands. Tahiti, Canada, North America, West Indies, United Kingdom, continent of Europe, via Sa : a ran < laco, to connect with Maunganui at Wellington, at 5.30 p.m. Mails; due London about February 3. the following arrangements will be observed in the Chief Post Office during the iSew Year holidays:—On Wednesday an afternoon delivery will bo made by postmen. An over-counter delivery of town letters, registered as well as ordinary, will be made in the postmen s branch, first floor, between 7 and 8 p.m. To-dav (Boxing Day), and Thursday January 1 (New Year's Day), wi be observed as close holidays. There will be no delivery by postmen. All mails will close at 4 a.m., with the exception o! those for despatch by the Waikato express fa OA 1 '" ' n,nk , ev press, which will close at 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. respectively. .Late fee letters for Southern offices may be posted in the late-fee box at the entrance to the railway station up to 10 minutes before departure of trains.
