FINANCES OF N.S. WALES.
AMERICANS OFFER LOAN. A. and N.Z. BYDNEY. Dec. 16. The New South Wales Government has been approached by influential American financial interests and offered a substantial loan a! a reasonable, rate of interest. Details of the offer have not be>?n officially disclosed. It is understood that negotiations are now in progress on behalf of Now South Wales for the raising of a loan of about £6,000,000, which, it is stated, will be utilised in meeting commitments falling due in London. The American offer will probably not be accepted, particularly if the money can be obtained in London on favourable terms.
