The Mercer Sowing Club held a series of trial fours between crews representing the railway, Roose Shipping Company, Stones' Quarry. County Council Crusher, find the. town. The. competition was for the Seymour cup and medals, th« cup to be competed for ! annually. Considering that the -majority of the men were firat-sea-son oarsmen the form shown wss very good. The following are the results: -t irst heat: Quarry cru-s, K. Katinn. (stn. D. Katipa.. A Sellwood. W. Graham, beat the town crew, T. Lee (Mr), E. Beamish, H. Elmore. W Bates, by two lengths. Second heat : Shipping rr * v ''- AV - Oliver. i, 1 " 1 - {^ r) u \- Woods, W. Oliver, J. Watts, beat the Hailw»v crew, T. Weir (stn. Ft. Barnes, C. Carswell L. Motu, by a. half a lene'th, Semifinal"' Quarrj" crew beat the Crusher crew, \V f.»e (stn. A. Kiddie. H. Elmore. J. Kiddie, by three lengths.
