The occupational .section of the 1924 census returns reveals that women have invaded many occupations which were Previously monopolised by men. Among the occupations of women there are 149 undertakers, 73 makers, 11 trainers and jockeys, 500 bargees, 23 Chimney sweeps, 19 brewers, 753 railway Porters, '509 stationmasters, 219 farm iiiffs. Women are also among the Plumbers, riveters, and . gunsmiths.
