REVENUE GAINS £344,000.
EXPANSION OF LAND TAX.
LARGER TEMPORARY DEFICIT.

A statement was issued this evening by the Minister for Finance showing the total receipts and expenditure for the eight months ended. November 30. The provisional figures compare with those for the corresponding period of last year as
follows:—
Eight Months— 1924-25. 1923-24. Revenue .. £15,260,000 £14.916.000 Expenditure 16,474,000 15,615,000 Excess .. £1,214,000 £699,000 Revenue shows an increase of £344,500, while expenditure is greater by £859,000. The temporary deficit is consequently large by £514.500 than it was at November 30 last year.
The principal increases in revenue were: Customs, £150,000; railways, £163,000; and land tax, £214,000.
