TO-DAY'S FORECAST.
GOVERNMENT REPORT.
The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows:—Present indications are for variable winds, but freshening .prevailing northward of Kawhia anil East Cape, and nortberlies backing to scutherlies shortly elsewhere. Weather changeable generally, cloudy to overcast at times, with scattered rain. Barometer falling in tho north, but rising everywhere soon.

Vincent last evening:— Unsettled weather conditions are indicated. with rain at times, particularly along the west coast and in southern districts, and becoming warm and humid. Northerly to north-easterly winds, moderate to strong, freshening, and backing to west. Seas moderate.
