CRUSHED BENEATH HORSE.

FARMER DIES IN HOSPITAL

EVIDENCE AT the inquest.

A fall from a horse sustained by a farmer, Mr. Arthur Tucker, aged 76, at Streamlands, on November 13, resulted in his death in the Auckland Hospital on Saturday.

At an inquest held before the coroner, Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., Mrs. Tucker said her husband mounted a horse, which bolted over a bank. He was crushed beneath the animal.

Dr. A. J, Mason, of the Auckland Hospital staff, said Mr. Tucker was admitted with a fractured pelvis, and suffering from shock, .Following an operation he progressed satisfactorily until December 3, when he became worse. Death was due to heart failure and pneumonia, following his injuries. The coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
