MRS. G. STRATTON PORTER.
Reuler. NEW YORK. Dec. 7. Mrs. Gene St ration Porter, the wellknown authoress, has been killed in a street car accident. Her own motor car was struck by a track trolley car, with fatal results 'o Mrs. Porter.
The late Mr:. Gene Stratton Porter, novelist poetess and s.rtist, was born on a 'aim in Wabash, Indiana, in 1868. She was for two years editress of the can.w.i department of trie publication Recreation, and for a simi.ar period served on the natural history" staff of Out ing. Later she was for four years specialist in natural history photography on the Photo f;raphic Times Annua] Almanac. Among ler works were " The Song of the Cardinal," " Freckles," " At the Foot of the Rainbow," " A Girl of the Limberlost," " Music of the Wild," " The Harvester," " Moths of the Limberlost," " Laddie," " Michael O'Halloran." " A Daughter of the Land " and " Her Father's Daughter.".
