A VARIED CHARGE LIST. SEVERAL CASES REMANDED. A number of cases camo before Mr. J. \V, Poynton, S.M., in tho Police Court yesterday, but remands were granted in several instances. A remand until next Monday was made in tho case of Samuel Goldberg, aged 52, (Mr. Goldstirie), who appeared on a charge of assaulting his wife, Leah Goldberg, on Saturday evening. Bail was fixed at £25. A charge of having been drunk while in charge of a motor-car was preferred against Percy Grime, aged 30. A remand until next Monday was granted. A remand for a week was also wanted in the case of George Thomas Nelson, acred 24, who was charged with theft of £62 ss. Bail was fixed at £100. Disorderly conduct while drunk resulted in the appearance of John Douglas .Stark, aged 27. Accused was fined £5, in default 14 days' imprisonment. For 4 drunkenness arid committal of an indecent act, Thomas Murphy, aged 43, was fined £3, in default seven days imprisonment.
