IMPROVEMENT OF HERDS.
NOVEMBER TEST RESULTS.
Tho returns of the Kaipara Dairy Company's Herd-testing Association show progressive improvement in the herds under test.
For the period ended November 30 1477 cows tested averaged 9021!.. of milk with a test of 3.75. returning an average of 34.0711). of butter-fat. Tho return for the corresponding period of the previous year was ; 1539 cows, 85111). of milk, 3.6 test. 30.701b. of butter-fat.
The three highest herds tested last month were as follow:—Herd No. 20: Cows. 30; milk. 11891b. ; test, 4.0; butterfat. 47.561b. Herd No. 43: Cows, 65; milk, 1257; test 3.8: butter fat, 47.32. Herd No. 5; Cows, 10; milk, 990: test, 4.7; butter-fat. 47.24.
The three lowest herds were :—Herd No. 67- Cows, 30: milk, 4751b. • test, 34-butter-fat, 16.33. Herd No.'ll: Cows oo : or r " llk rV 5 1 61 tV : tPst > 3.8; butter-fat, 22.26.
