BANKRUPT HINDU.
UNPROFITABLE VENTURES.

HAMILTON. Monday.
A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Ram Chand, a Hindu fruiterer, of Frankton, was held before tho deputyofficial assignee, Mr. V. 11. Sanson, today. Bankrupt stated that he owed £81 9s 2d to unsecured creditors. His assets were worth £37 19s sd, leaving a deficit of £43 9s 9d. Bankrupt explained that he had acted as partner to a conjurer in Auckland, and that he had lent the man £50, which had not been repaid. He had not received wages for tho work lie did. He commenced business as a fruiterer at Frankton with about £40 as capital, but ho did not do well. There was not a quorum present and no resolution was passed.
