grading store RETURNS. INCREASE OF TEN PER CENT. [BY telegraph,—-press association.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. Figures of ' the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture show that the salted butter graded.for November totalled 9694 tons and unsalted 659, tons, a total of 10,353 tons, compared with 8265 tons salted , and 839 tons unsalted, a total of 9104 tons, for November last year, giving an increase of 13.7 per cent. For the four months ended November, 1924, the respective quantities were 24,656 tons salted, and 1322 tons unsalted; a total of 25,978 tons, compared with 20,274 tons salted and 1333 tons unsalted, a total of 21,607 tons, for the corresponding period of the preceding season, an increase of 20.2 per cent. The cheese graded for November, 1924, : comprised, white 6146 tons, coloured 3409 tons, a.total of 9555 tons, compared with 7075 tons white and 4076 tons coloured, a total of 11,151 tons for November, 1923, a decrease of 14.3 per cent. The quantities for the four months ended November, 1924, were white, 1 12,578 tons, coloured 7211 tons, a total of 19,789 tons, compared with 13,591 tons white and 8338 tons coloured, a total of 21,929 tons for the corresponding period of the preceding season, a decrease of 9.7 per cent. Converting these figures into butter-fat equivalent there ..is an increase of 10.6 per cent, in butter-fat production for the four months as compared with the corresponding period of 1923-24. The stocks held in the various grading ports at November 30 were: Butter, 4727 tons; cheese, 4496 tons.
