The council of the .New Zealand Amateur Association spent some vimo discussing surf bathing and the, dangers that exist to people who venture too daringly into the surf. The subject arose as the result of the recent double fatality at New Brighton. The decision of the council was that nothing could be done to prevent such accidents and that a beach patrol would no' provide a satisfactory answer to the problem.
