Nine miners are imprisoned in a flooded mine near Swansea, Wales. Tho Daily Express states that a sudden inrush of water occurred in the Dunvant Colliery, 'iale last night. The disaster is believed to have been due to the storm, which was raging and the heavy rains which accompanied it.
Seventy .men succeeded in escaping. Many waded waist-deep to the shaft. One miner was brought to the surface dead.
The nine men who are still below are known to ba in the most inaccessible part of the workings. Their retreat is cut off.
