SPINSTER'S DEATH.
VERDICT OF MURDER. WARRANT FOR SUSPECT ISSUED. l Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Eecd! 1 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Nov. 28. At the inquest concerning the death of Miss Bridget Enwright, at Benalla, the coroner returned a verdict of wilful murder against Alexander Clarence Thomas. A warrant was directed to be taken out for his arrest. Thomas has not been seen for four months.
The body of Miss Bridget Enwright, aged 69, was found partly buried near her house at Benalla on September 9. Her nose had been broken and there was a small hole in the top of her head. Her lower limbs had been badly bruised. A shovel which was found 250 yds. from the body was identified as the property of a farmer who lived in the vicinity The latter' stated that the shovel was stoion from his property.
