PARKING OF BUSES.

THE POST OFFICE STAND.

TWO INFORMATIONS DISMISSED.

Decision was given by Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday in the cases in which Joseph Rimmer and John Trewheela (Mr. Terry) were charged by the City Council (Mr. Mackay) with having permitted their vehicles to stand in front of the chief post office, which was not a stand appointed by the council. The magistrate said he was of the opiniou that the by-law was not unreasonable, oppressive or partial in its operation, and that it was legally passed, although the change of stand was hastily brought into operation. It was really not a by-law, but a change of stand for vehicles under a resolution which appeared to be authorised under a by-law. He was also of the opinion, however, that the informations should be against drivers, not owners. The defendant Rimmer was not driving on the day of the alleged offence. The informations against Rimmer and Trewheela were dismissed.
