RATES FOR CABLEGRAMS.
REDUCTIONS ANNOUNCED. LIST OF NEW CHARGES. Reductions in the rates for cablegrams will take effect next Monday. . On ordinary cables to the United Kingdom, via "Pacific" or "Eastern," * reduction of 5d a word will be made, Bnd on deferred and British Government, the new prices being 2s 3d and Is lid respectively. The rates on messages sent via "Pacific" and "Marconi" have been reduced by 3d for ordinary, and Ijd for deferred. To other places in Europe, via "Eastern," the reductions are: Ordinary, 6d a word; deterred, 3d; British Government, 3^d. On cables sent to Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, and Switzerland, via "Pacific," the reductions for each word are 6d, 3d, and respectively, while to the same places, via "Pacific and Marconi" the ordinary rate is reduced by 6d, and a deferred service at half rates instituted. The new prices will be 2s 6d for ordinary and Is 3d for deferred. "To other places in Europe by the Pacific route, the rates will be 5d cheaper for ordinary and 2Jd cheaper for deferred, and British Government, where applicable. ... Canadian cables bv the same route_ will cost Is 9d a word for ordinary and 10i d for deferred. These prices represent » reduction of 3d and l£d respectively op the Pacific route, and on those taytW Eastern route to Canada. America, West Indies, Guiana, and Equador, 5d ana 2Ad respectivelv. ' . The rate for daily lett«-tel«g»«« and week-end telegrams, also cablegrams to the United Kingdom, via the Eastern and Cairo wireless route, remains, unaltered. .. .
