HALF-HOLIDAY QUESTION.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESrONDENT]. MORRINSVILLE. Tuesday. Hie annual meeting of tho Morrinsville Chamber of Commerce was presided over by Mr. C. M. Gunimer, There was a fair attendance of members.
Considerable discussion took placc as to whether Wednesday or Saturday would be the most suitabie for the observance of the weekly half-holiday. Most members favoured Wednesday on account of tv! e businesses having adopted that day last year, and it was considered that trade that used to come to Motrins* ville was now being done at Te Aroha on Saturday. It was eventually decided to call a meeting of business .men to discuss the matter. 11 he question of improvement of the laiwaj service to and from Morrinsville was referred to tlj# exertitive. „„J balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £7 4s 9d.
