MARO LIMESTONE ROCKS.

RESERVATION AREA. [by telegraph.— own correspondent.] WHANGAPJDI, Saturday. According to Mr. A. Carter the Government has decided to purchase a larger area of the curiously-formed Waro limestone rocks' near Hikurangi for scenic reserve purposes than that offered by him. It is understood that the vote on the supplementary Estimates is to provide for the purchase of part of the rocks .owned by Wilson's collieries, as well us the portion offered by Mr. Carter. A proposal is on foot that a roadway should be built round the reservation.
