DANDENONG TRAGEDY.
MAN'S DEEP DEJECTION.
RUIN AND MENTAL STRAIN.

MELBOURNE. Nov. 8.
In connection with the Dandenong tragedy, in which a son returned home to find his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Markley, both dead, with their throats cut, a Melbourne firm has received a letter from Markley, which goes to throw light on the affair. Markley wrote:—
" I have a mentally afflicted wife, whom I cannot leave. lam a nervous wreck, and on tho verge of madness myself, having lost £1500 in two years. With the collapse of my own and my wife's health, and mortgages on four houses, unless my son, who is our only support, can get work, I must go into a mental hospital with my wife and lose my home, on which I have paid £400. lam ruined, with the home gone forever, and life in a mental hospital before me."
