'Ihe ShefiieJd Shield cricket match be tween Victoria and Sojith Australia resulted in a surprise after South AustraJia's big score of 507 in their first innings, and 233 in their second. In their second innings, the Victorians, whose first innings scoie was 343. scored 409 runs for the loss of seven wickets, thus winning by' three wickets and 12 runs. Hendry made 109 (not out), Pousford 77, and Woodfull 67. Bowling for South Australia, Grimmett took three wickets for 160 runs, A. Richardson two fpr 81. Hendry batted j Confidently and -without hesitation. His display .was chanceless, and he severely punished loose ones. Grimmett bowled .remarkably well, taking ' nine wickets in two innings. for 267 runs. > BOXING IN GERMANY. COOK DRAWS WITH KOERNER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.
