ELLERSLIE HOMING CLUB.

The Ellerslie Homing Pigeon Club flew its cup race from Christchurch. a distance of 505 miles. The birds were liberated by Mr. Robertson at 7.20 a.m., and the winner was Chapman Bros., b b h Night Patrol, which put. up a remarkable performance of homing at- 9.20 p.m. threa hours after sunset. In the history of pigeon racing this is probably the first, bird to home at night, and Night Patrol is evidently a great pigeon. Results:— Chapman Bros, b b h Night Patrol, velocity 1135 yds. per minute, 1; It. Wallace's b c h Sure Foot. 1052yd5., 2; G. Redman's b p h Sweet Annie, 860 yds., 3; T. Robinson's bird, 793yd5.; Kemp Bros.' bird, 713 yds.
