SELF-DENIAL APPEAL.
SALVATION ARMY WORK.
Auckland citizens responded well yesterday to the street collection in connection with the Salvation Army's annual , selfdenial appeal. ' . The proceeds provide money for the maintenance of the Army's social welfare work in the city, a certain portion being devoted to missionary work. The Army is at present conducting its annual self-denial effort, the results of which go far each year toward the maintenance of its own institutions and social work. "
