GREAT PROBLEMS TO SOLVE. TRIBUTE TO THE PIONEERS. DURBAN, Sept. S, The Australian and New Zealand members of Parliament visiting Sonth Africa have left the other delegations, and gone on a three days' tour of Zululand. * Senator Givens (Australia) referred to the South Africans as next-door neighbours of the Australians. 'He-'paid* a tribute to the pioneers of both countries, and expressed the hope that under the Southern Cross dominions would be built up which would be worthy of them. Sir John Luke, M.P., for many years Mayor of Wellington, urged that provision should bo made against the timo when the gold mines would be unproductive. " God known, and we know, that you have problems to solve," he said.. He paid a tribute to the courage of tho South Africans, and concluded 'by ic* marking that he was a happier'tellow than an artist in a morning paoer had made him appear.
