Newdick, of Auckland, has been nominated for the position*of supervisor at the forth coming Dominion brass hinds contest. His appointment has yet to be endorsed by the North Island Brass Band Association. Mr. C B. Norwood, of Wellington, left yesterday on a trip to Sydney and Melbourne. He is accompanied by Mrs, Norwood. Mr. Norwood will represent the Wellington Rotary Club at the Rotary Conference. Mr. R. B. Morris, lata secretary of tho Post and Telegraph Department, cas disposed of his interests in Wellington and left yesterday, with Mrs. Morris and Jiifi family, for South Canterbury to settle on his farm, Sunridge, at St. Andrewls. Mr. Norman T. Sinclair", M.A., who went from Auckland to Cambridge JOni versity to pursue his studies, has gained there first-class honours in the .modem languages tripos. His exceptionally good work in Provencal, one of the chief Romance or neo-Latin languages, has been commended. Mr. Sinclair, the Rev. W. A. Sinclair, is now visiting England..
