TOWN OF MUDDY STREETS.
The deplorable state of the streets of Ipswich, Queensland, led to a long discussion at a meeting of the local council recently. It wa3 stated that children were unable to go to school owing to the bad condition of the roads during the recent wet weather; that doctors and tradespeople got stuck in tlto mud with their vehicles; that owners of motor-cars could not use them on thG roads, tnd that young ladies on. their way to work daily went. barefooted to the railway istation,. where they washed their feet, and then put on their Btockings and shoes.
