PAGEANT OF EMPIRE.
NEW ZEALAND SECTION.
GREAT SUCCESS AT WEMBLEY. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Jul? 5!?, The first performance of the New Zealand and Australian sections of the Pageant of Empire attracted large crowds to the Stadium at the Empire Exhibition yesterday. There was a succession of brilliant spectacles and| dramatic incidents which evoked great applause. The opening of the scene depicted Windsor Castle. There on the greensward Captain Cook was seen receiving the commission from King George HI., to seek new lands in the Southern Seas. This was followed by the landing of Captain Cook in New Zealand. The battle of Orakau was staged in a manner both realistic and gripping. Australia's first scene was the landing of Captain Cock at Botany Bay. After
this tableau the history of Australia was brilliantly pictured.
The Pageant terminated with the spectacular grouping of all the Dominions and colonies, with a crash of bells and music and a triumphal procession.
