MAROONED IN FLOOD.
BUSH GIRL TO THE RESCUE.
To find herself marooned with h'er child in a buggy from which the' horso had frantically extricated itself, in the swirling waters of the Mann River, New South Wales, was recently, tho startling experience of Mrs. Fletcher, of Skeleton Creak.
Mrs. Fletcher's position was desperiito indeed when Miss Ethel Morley, whose homo overlooks tho river, came on the scene, and with the resourcefulness of tho Australian bush, girl, saved the situation. Back to the farm the girl raced, yoked up tile nearest horso to a dray, and drovo it full-tilt into tho flood. Fastening the stranded buggy to the back of tho dray, she .towed it ashore, and thus rescued tho occupants, who were dreadfully scared, but otherwise little. tho worse for their close call.
