Charles Alsop and Murray Davis r have been committed for trial on charges of robbery under arms in connection with the card party sensation on June 17. '
While seven men were playing cards aad amusing themselves in various ways in a private house in Melbourne, on the evening of June 17, four masked men armed with revolvers entered the room. The intruders ordered all the occupants to f'Ut their hands up, and then searched hern, and afterwards the premises. They Btole money, jewellery, and watches valued at over £200, and then escaped in a motor-car. The police arrived_ a few minutes later.. The thieves missed a valuable diamond ring, which the owner managed to conceal. Another member of the party placed £100 in large denomination banknotes in hia mouth and so saved them. ■;-.; : -:
