FUTURE OF S. AFRICA.

HERTZOG'S PREDICTIONS. ATTACK ON SMUTS' PARTY. A. and N.Z. CAPETOWN. July 11. In a letter published in the press, the Prime Minister, General Hertzog, thanks the members of the Nationalist and Labour parties for their support. He states that the result of the recent elections showed that there was no room in the South African Party for Nationalminded Dutch. That party was now purely composed of Unionists, and in ti few years not a single National-minded person would be found within its ranks. The papers published in the English language strongly protest against endeavours being made by Nationalist Ministers to induce the Dutch-speaking members of the South African Party to desert their English colleagues. These efforts are characterised as inconsistent with the Ministerial professions of their non-racialistie viawa.
