MORRINSVILLE COUNCIL.
fBT TELEGRAPH. —OWN COBKESFONDENT.} MORRINSVILLE, Saturday. The Morrinsville Borough Council met last evening. The Finance Committee reported bank balances as follows:—Sewerage loan account (credit), £1860; water loan account (credit), £201 14s 4d; district funds account (debit), £822 13s Bd. An applicant for an advance for sewerage connection was granted an advance of two-thirds of the contract price. Four building permits were granted. A long discussion took place on the question ot displaying goods on the footpath for sale by shopkeepers, and it was eventually jdeeided that the matter should be left to the discretion of the inspector as to whether the displays were an obstruction. The solicitors to the council forwarded £78 18s 6d, outstanding rates, and reported that the total amount now owing was £45 10s. . A special rate of l-8d in the £ on the inner area was struck for the purpose of lending money to householders for the purpose of installing the sewerage.
