"A TRAP FOR MOTORISTS."
BAD STRETCH OF ROAD.
COUNCIL TAKES NO ACTION.
fBX TKLEG^PH.—OWN COBEESPOHDJSNTi] WORBINSVILLB. Tuesday. The main through road from Hamilton to Te Aroha at Motumasibo is in s.-de-plorable state. It is stirred up like porridge, the mud reaching the .footboards of the cars, • which endeavour to get through. None of tha taxi drivers will* go over the road at night. '■£ firm compelled to use the road every day has engaged a farmer by the week to pull the car through. When the state of the road was brought op at the last meeting of the Piakb County Council, writing to the Public Works engineer at Auckland was suggested, offering £25 for fascining. work if the department was prepared to pay a similar amount. The riding representative, Mr. Stark, stated that only one of the Piako County ratepayers had occasion to use the road and that man could "dodge it." The council decided to do nothing to.jihe road, so that it is likely to be impassable and a trap to motorists unless the Public Works Department takes action.
