AUCKLAND'S BUSY PORT.
TRAFFIC AND REVENUE.
INCREASE FOR SIX MONTHS.
Maritime trade to and from the Port of Auckland steadily increases. Traffic returns submitted to the Harbour Board yesterday showed that for the sis months ended June 30, the total receipts from ordinary sources amounted to £164.341, an increase of £13,744 over those of the corresponding period of 1923, but £8959 less than the estimates.
The receipts last month amounted to £25,600, an increase of £4032 over the June receipts last year. The principal item was a sum of £10,888 for goods wharfage.
Arrivals of shipping last month totalled 693 aggregating 316,086 gross tons, a comparative decrease of four vessels, but an increase of 13,044 gross tons. Local coastal returns showed an increase of 171 Vessels (9074 tons). The departures during June totalled 693 vessels, aggregating 316,742 gross tons.
