ASSOCIATION'S ACTIVITIES
YEAR OF PROGRESS RECORDED.
The report of the Auckland Automobile Association, to be presented at the annual general meeting next Tuesday, shows the past year to have been a very progressive one. During the year 132 new members were enrolled and the membership now totals 1377. Branches have been formed at Huntly, Hamilton and Whangarci.
The financial position of the association is particularly good, a surplus of £238 for the year being recorded. The accumulated fund now amounts to £1542 and the sports fund account to nearly £277. A profit of £88 was made on the annual race meeting held at Muriwai on March 22. In order that the meeting and similar functions may be definitely brought within the association's objects, the question of amending the regulations will be brought before members on Tuesday. Reference is made in the report to the satisfactory improvement effected to the roads in the city and immediate suburbs, but it is stated that further afield, notwithstanding strong representations, tho position is still unsatisfactory.
