There was a- good attendance at the fruit and produce sales at the City Markets yesterday. There was a wide variety of fruit available, apples still being ;in plentiful supply. Vegetables were not scarce, but. the variety was slightly smaller than usual. Both duck and hen eggs remain i.i heavy supply, which resulted in a further drop- in ■prices. The following prices wero realised:— i .FRUIT.;' Apples: Choice Delicious, 12a to 14s per case, other grades 8a to 10s; Stunners,- 8s to 10s 6d; American Horns, 8a to 9s; Brightons, 6s 6d to 8s; Munroes, Sli to 9s Cd; choice Dohertys, 9s to 10s; other grndos; 59 6d to 6s 6d; choice Winter Cole.pears up to 15a per.case, smaller grades 0s to i.Os; Vickers, os to 9s: P. Barrys. large. Pa to 10s; Josephines, 10a to lis; Winter Nellie, 14b to 153. Tree tomatoes brought from 6g to 8a per case, while hothouse tomatoes ranged in price, from Is to -2s per lb Hothouse grapes' had sale at la 6d to 2s 9<l per lb. Choice lemons sold at; prices up to Ids per case, other grades realising prices from 6s to 8s per case. Mandarins, ex Sydney, brought from 20s to 24a per case, a lew extra choice cases realising us much as 26s per case. Passion fruit brought 12a to 15a. and Sydney grapes 20a per case. Repacked bananas were in plentiful supply, realising from 15s to 18b per crate. Best southern < potatoes realised from 8a 6d to. 9s 3d per cwt, while new potatoes ranged in price from 3d to per lb. Onions brought 218 to 22s per owt.,,and kumeraa lid to 13d per lb. Pumpkins, and ..squash broiight 6s tells per cwt. while swede turnips realised 3s--6d to 5s 6d for the same quantity. Best quality cabbage realised - 12a ■-■' to 19a- : per sack, lettuces. Is to 3s 6d per dozen, cauliflowers, 3d to 2a each, leeks 4d to la 3d bundle, celery Is to 3a 6d per bundle, rhubarb 3a to 4s 9d per, dozen bundles: and carrots, parsnips, beet and turnips brought 9d to Is 3d per dozen bundles.
DAIRY PRODUCE. Hen eggs brought 2s 6d to 2s 7d per dozen, duck egg 8 2a 5Jd to 2u 6d per dozen. There were large supplies of poultry and the demand for the most part was good with the exception of ducks and drakes, which were in over supply. FEILDING STOCK SALE. Bidding was very slack for store sheep. Hoggets, except good ewe hoggets, .were cheaper by 2s per head, •and a number of pens were passed in. Good ewes in lamb sold fairly well. . Practically the whole yarding changed, hands 'at prices well up to those ruling in other markets. . Abraham and "Williams, Ltd., report having held a satisfactory sale of dairy stock and implements on account of Mr. J. Peterana, . Linton, on Monday last. . The cows were principally Shorthorn in fair condition, calving August and September. There wan a good attendance, and bidding was keen throughout the sale. We quote:— BesS cows, £6. £7 ss, £8 10s, £9, £10 ss, to £10 10s; medium cows, £3, £3 10s, £4 15s, to £5; empty cows and late calvers, to £2 10s; horses, £30 to £41 ; milking machine and separator, £85. Implements and sundries sold well. On Tuesday we held a sale on account of Mr. J. C. Dench, Whakaronga. Owing to the boisterous weather, the attendance was small, and bidding' dull. Cows, £3, £3 10s, £4, £5. £5 ss, £5 12a 6d, £5 15s, to £8. On Wednesday we held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr. E. Greer, Anderson's -Road. Linton. The cows were in exceptionally good condition, showing a lot of quality. Calving dates were given. Best cows, early calvers, £10. £11, £11 10s, £12. £13. £13 10s. £15 10b. to £17; medium cows, £6, £6 10s. £6 15s, £7. £8, £9 to £9 6s; later calvers, £3, £3 103, £i to £5; springing heifers, £5. PROPERTY SALES. Several country and suburban properties changed : hands. at various city auction rooms yesterday. A property at No. 88, Vincent Street, including a three-storied brick building, with a workshop attaohed was sold by Messrs. Samuel Vaile and Sons on behalf of the mortgagee for £2600. The property, No. 16. Huntley Avenue, off Carlton Gore Road, consisting of a 12-roomed house and outbuildings, was sold by tho same firm for £2250. A block of 58 acres situated at Red Beach on Whangaparoa harbour, was sold on behalf of the mortgagee, by the same firm, together with a 6-roomed house, one cottage of two rooms, and three cottages of four rooms, the total price paid being £1300.. Several farms were disposed of by C. F.> Bennett. A farm of 289 acres at . Patetonga realised £6120; another of 176 acres at Otorohanga, was sold for £1147. An Onerahi property of 208 acres brought £1300, while a farm at Waiau Pa. consisting of 91 acres, was sold at £1400. A 3-roomed bungalow and section in TaUmata Road, Mount Albert', was sold at £885, by the same firm; neve-nil other properties at Epsom. Remuera. and Grey Lynn failed to reach the reserve price and were called in.
