CONFIDENCE IN N.Z.

GOOD FEELING IN BRITAIN.

SIR T. MACKENZIE'S VIEWS.

Australian and N.Z. Cable < Association. (Reed. 8.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 28.

, • Sir Thomas Mackenzie, formerly High Commissioner for New Zealand, who is visiting London, stated in an interview that the best thing he had observed since his arrival in Britain was the evidence from many sources of the confidence in New Zealand's great future. The terms of , the recent loan were clear proof of the business community's confidence in New Zealand's commercial prosperity.

Sir Thomas has visited the docks to watch the unloading and storing of New Zealand meat, and also Smithfield Market, where he formerly spent three years as a salesman, gaining a knowledge of marketing methods. He is to attend the conference of world parliamentarians a<t Brussels on June 10, by invitation of the. Commercial« Committee of ' the British Parliament. ' He will also-" be? present at the Fourth International Refrigeration Congress in London on June 16. / The opinion was expressed by Sir Thomas that if it were possible to rnite the work of agencies such as the Colonial Institute, the Empire Club, and the Overseas Club for centralising and organising the accommodation, entertainment,' and welfare of all Dominion visitors, and lesser-known visitors, they would find London less lonely. Interchange of views and ideas between visitors from all parts of the Empire would "also influence a better Imperial outlook on the part of all concerned.
