FRENCH CLAIM POSSESSION.
WRIT OF INJUNCTION.
(Received 11.55 p.m.) A. and N.Z.—Sun. LONDON", May 28. Mr. Grindell 'Mathews, the inventor of the new death ray, denies that he is bound by any agreement with the three claimants, Messrs. Gubbins, Caley and Sanborne, whose options, he says, expired six weeks ago. If he does not receive a British offer by Friday afternoon he declares that he will sign the Frenchcontract, which covers an offer of some thousands of pounds and a share in the profits/.; ' ' lT ' ' Against this M. Royer, with whom Mr. Mathews already is negotiating, asserts that Mr. Mathews is not a free agent,, as France has already definitely secured his ray. A solicitor's clerk has gone to Paris to serve' Mr, Mathews' with an injunction writ prohibiting the sale of his ray outside Britain. •, | In the : House of Commons it was stated on behalf of . the Air Ministry that experts could easily reproduce every phenomenon Mr. Mathews had shown. It had not been proved that his phenomena were of any value.
